MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
JEFF & JULIA
Jeff “Acrocat” Miller – Your Hosts
Virginia Beach, VA
Jeff is super happy to hold this 3rd annual Acro de Playa Workshop Weekend event for all you lovely people.
He couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Acro Love Family, diving headfirst into a world of connection, laughter, and unforgettable moments. His mission? To cheer you on as you crush your personal goals — no matter your experience level. He’s all about helping you on your acro journey, promoting safe play, learning at your own pace, and, most importantly, having an absolute blast.
Jeff has been flipping, flying, and balancing his way through Acro Yoga since 2014 in the sunny Virginia Beach area. His questionable relationship with ADHD and lack of sleep fuels a whirlwind of planning epic events, mini-workshops, playful jams, and delightfully ridiculous antics and one of the masterminds behind the AcroYoga757 club. In Jeff’s book, AcroYoga isn’t just for the super bendy or ultra-strong — it’s got a little sumthin-sumthin for everybody and every body. So get ready to fly, laugh, and maybe even surprise yourself!

Julia Bohlman
Julia discovered acro yoga in 2022 and hasn’t stopped flipping, flying, or laughing since. She’s performed with Jeff at events and festivals all over the area, bringing big energy and even bigger smiles.
While she mostly loves taking to the air as a flyer, she’s always game to level up her basing skills too. And when she’s not doing acro, you’ll probably spot her on stilts at beach events—towering above the crowd in true circus spirit.
Julia is all about movement, creativity, and trying anything that feels a little magical. If it involves balance, play, or circus vibes, she’s in.
CHASE & SHELLEY
CHASE ROHAN & SHELLY BRODER
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA
Chase started his people lifting days as a stuntman on his high school cheerleading team. It was only natural that he made his way to Acro! Through this newfound journey, Chase has made his way to many festivals and teacher trainings while also teaching local classes, workshops, and at various festivals. He can be heard occasionally telling a dad joke or two… His punny ways help create a playful environment where folks can be their true selves!
Shelly has been practicing acro for over ten years, and has been a member of many wonderful acro communities in the U.S. and internationally. She has taught acro in a variety of settings including local classes, and national and international festivals. Shelly uses her professional background as a music therapist and former college professor to create class and community cultures that encourage support, connection, technique, and safety!
JESSE, ERIN & ARI
JESSE BOWES
Jesse enjoys watching your study of acrobatics progression. There are so many ways to practice; and I hope you find those ways you like best. Training acrobats and acro teachers, I spend the most time talking about group communication or psychological preparation..
If I can convince my acro partner, Erin Jones, to do a skill – it must be safe! Or, at least safety has been discussed. Check out our pass the flyer workshop – if you want to exploit the power of teamwork. If you’re a flowy, mover and shaker – we’ve got some challenging hoop acro that you might incorporate into your next performance.
ERIN JONES
Erin is new to planet earth. She’s always cosplaying as human, and sometimes is acroing, hooping, or acro hooping. She’s been practicing acro with Jesse since she couldn’t even conceptualize doing a mono shoulderstand, and continues to look at him with a skeptical face whenever he suggests working on skills she still can’t even conceptualize doing.
ARI DARMON
Ari brings a blend of strength, playfulness, and grounded presence to every practice. With a focus on trust, communication, and clean technique, Ari creates an inviting space where partners feel supported, connected, and encouraged to explore new possibilities.
His approach is equal parts mindful, uplifting, and fun — making AcroYoga accessible and inspiring for anyone who steps onto the mat with him. His smile and grounded presence and an encouraging spirit that helps partners feel safe, supported, and empowered.
