SUNDAY, JUNE 16th 1:00p – Bay Oaks Park, Norfolk
SAND IS LAVA!! Similar to the kid’s game. Here we will push not only your core moves, but also your brain. You start in one pose and we call out random new poses and you have to figure out how to transition to them without touching the “HOT SAND” – a.k.a. Lava. Who knows, you may end up creating the next best Washing Machine!
PREP FOR ACRO ON PADDLEBOARD with Jeff & Luma & CREW – We will go over simple poses and techniques to help you stay centered while trying Acro on the Paddleboard. Hopefully stay above water than in it. PREREQ: Acro 101. And not afraid of the water.
ONE HUGE GROUP POSE!
AQUA ACRO – Time to take your Standing Acro to fun heights with fun playtimes and great photo opps. Look for dolphins too!
ACROPEUTICS – Acropeutics is the healing side of AcroYoga. With the assistance of a partner and Gravity, length is created in the spine, and with gentle assisted twists and bends, real space is created, bringing relief and realignment. This practice is for everyone, big or small, and through proper bone stacking and alignment, we can all give this healing gift to one another.
SUNDAY 8:21p – MOST AMAZING SUNSET! If you can stay late, watch one of the most amazing sunsets while in the water, the beach, or even on a paddleboard.
MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
J & AIMEE
Durham, NC
Aimee (she/her) has 10+ years of acro training experience and earned her 200 hour teaching certification through the Lift School of Acrobatics in 2017. Her favorite skills includes pops/Icarian, adagio, and being a tiny base for big flyers in reverse star. Aimee believes all people deserve the opportunity for safe, social, accessible movement practices and is committed to allyship and inclusivity in her acro offerings.
IG: @aimeeacrobat.
J (he/him) found his way to acro through Richmond’s slackline community then met Aimee at Richmond’s first Acro Scavenger Hunt in 2016. They have been training, teaching, and performing together ever since. J’s favorite skills include Icarian, reverse star, and standing flows. J believes strong fundamentals and dedicated training are the best way to improve in any practice and aims to convey that through his coaching.

JESSE & KIMBER & ARI
Colesville, MD
Kimber Brenneman started her love affair with AcroYoga in Chicago in 2013 and completed her teacher training with Partner Acrobatics in 2016. She currently trains and teaches in Columbia, MD. Kimber is a yoga teacher and a Thai Bodyworker with a focus on trigger point release. She believes in training hard and recovering harder.
Jesse Bowes might have that Benjamin Button condition. This dude looks like a kid when you see him training at the local playground every week. If he invited you to swinging, his child-like mind was already there. You can find him doing activities such as teaching weekly classes at a climbing gym/yoga studio and making jams in MoCo MD, Baltimore, and DC. He specializes in single limb balances and shamelessly asking non-acro people if he can hold them upside-down. For a good time, ask him about standing acro yoga or high flying therapeutics.
ERIC & KELLY
Baltimore, MD
Eric Sipes found a love of movement arts when he began teaching himself to breakdance via the internet in early 2000. Hardly able to contain his excitement and passion for movement, he began sharing his practice with any and everyone. After moving to Baltimore in 2011 he was introduced to AcroYoga and it changed his life completely. Today Eric has had thousands of hours training with professionals from all over the world. He has several teacher certifications including AcroYoga International, AcroLove, Lux Seattle Acro, and more! You can catch in Baltimore teaching multiple weekly classes, or performing at various venues with his partner Kelly Marburger and the acrobatic troupe “ClubSandwich Acrobatics”. IG: @sipes and FB: Eric N. Sipes.
Kelly Marburger has been practicing acrobatics for over a decade. She started training in circus acrobatics in 2011 with Lin Junming. In 2015 she received a teaching certification from Acro Yoga International and has been teaching acro in and around the Baltimore area for over 7 years. She has continued her training with amazing coaches including Brian Kincher and Jean-Luc Martin. In addition to teaching she has been performing as a flyer, mid, and base in Baltimore based acrobatic troupe Club Sandwich for 7 years. She also performs and teaches with her husband, Eric Sipes!
JUSTIN & MOLLY
Richmond, VA
Molly Rae (she/her) has studied dance, Thai bodywork, Zouk, and other movement modalities and has been practicing acro since 2016. In 2019 she became a certified AcroLove teacher, and she loves organizing and teaching for her local community.
Justin (they/he) When he was six his favorite games were connect the dots and connect four and ever since it’s been a journey to make things click. When he found acro he was instantly hooked by the art, movement, community, and culture and he dedicated himself to this practice and to sharing it with everyone he can. He became AcroLove certified in 2016.
JEFF & LUMA
YOUR HOSTS – Virginia Beach, VA
Jeff “AcroCatVB” hails from right here in Virginia Beach, VA and has been practicing Acro Yoga since 2014. He brings to the table over 30 years of coaching & training experience. He is excited to be an AcroLove Certified Teacher and is one of the organizers & instructors for the AcroYoga757 Club in the Hampton Roads area. His ADHD and lack of sleep helps create events, jams, videos, marketing material, and crazy shenanigans for the club. He loves to empower each person, no matter what skill level, in reaching and achieving their personal goals. He is a firm believer that everybody and every body can enjoy the benefits of Acro Yoga.
Luma is also from Virginia Beach. This “louca” little bundle of Brazilian fun started Acro in 2022 and has been on a wild ride ever since. She has teamed up with Jeff and started learning as much as she can in such a short time. Together they have already taught at various jams and performed at events across Hampton Roads. Their combined energy makes for a crazy and spontaneous time wherever they go!
